Tribe of Teachers: Empowering Educators and Transforming Education
Tribe of Teachers has been built from the years of expertise of seasoned educators who have come together to build a platform for the educators of the country to empower them and offer them a more empowered and dignified life. It is a mission with endless possibilities and opportunities and is thriving to bring the entire teacher fraternity under its wings. The need for this tribe has been felt from the past and it will be working with the educational institutions to bring constructive changes in the working condition of teachers.
Mission & Vision
Teaching is often called a noble profession, and for good reason. It forms the foundation upon which all other professions rest, shaping not only the future of individual students but also the broader trajectory of societies. The future of any society rests on the education of its children, and teachers are the ones who nurture that future. But it is the biggest irony of our country that teachers are the least paid employees in the entire working ecosystem and is often ignored in the society for doing this thankless job to make the ends meet.
This is where Tribe of Teachers comes into play to make the working conditions of the teachers more congenial in their respective organizations and ensuring standard wages and other perks for them. In the coming future we will introduce various plans and offers exclusively tailored for our teachers so that they can live an easier and more economically independent life.
Condition of the teaching professionals in our country
From the time the doors to private education has been opened by the government to the common public, a huge amount of investments has been poured-in by the business class and corporate to establish and run their own schools. Ironically, most of the owners of such schools are non-academicians who have no background in education and treat the teachers are mere resources to earn money and become wealthier. The parents need to keep in mind that the WORLD- CLASS INFRASTRUCTURE AND ROSY PICTURES OF A SCHOOL DOES NOT GUARANTEE A CHILD’S HOLISTIC DEVELOPMENT. THE GLOSSY AND SHINY TROPHIES AND CERTIFICATES THAT YOU SEE ON THE RECEPTION MIGHT BE A TESTAMENT OF THEIR ACHIEVEMENTS (IF THEY ARE ACTUALLY EARNED) BUT THAT DOES NOT GUARANTEE A PERFECT FUTURE FOR THE CHILD. With the mushrooming of various brands of schools every passing day, the parents have a plethora of choices to make to admit their children, making the competition really cut- throat. This has further led to a disconnect between the teachers and the students as the teachers are often humiliated, threatened, and held responsible by the management for non-satisfaction of parents or withdrawal of children from schools. This scenario has to change and for this the parental understanding and involvement is very necessary. The Teacher-Student relationship is very pious and the acts of a teacher infact give a proper shape to the future of a student.
How to choose a suitable school for your child?
Choosing a suitable school for your child is an important decision that can shape their educational experience and future. To make the right choice, you’ll need to consider several factors, including your child's unique needs, the school's philosophy, location, and resources. Here's a step-by-step guide to help you choose the right school:
- Learning Style: Does your child thrive in a structured environment, or do they need more creative freedom? Do they learn best through hands-on activities, or do they excel in lecture-based settings? Some children may need extra support for special educational needs, while others might benefit from enrichment programs.
- Personality and Interests: Consider your child’s interests, hobbies, and social needs. Are they more extroverted or introverted? Do they have particular academic interests, like math or art, that could influence which type of school might suit them best?
- Public vs. Private: Public schools are government-funded, while private schools rely on tuition fees and donations. Public schools tend to have a more diverse student body, but private schools may offer smaller class sizes and specialized programs.
- International or Bilingual Schools: If your family is international or multilingual, these schools offer a curriculum that spans multiple countries or languages.
- Curriculum: Look into the curriculum offered. Does the school follow the standard national or state guidelines, or does it offer specialized programs (e.g., International Baccalaureate, Advanced Placement)?
- Academic Performance: Research the school’s academic reputation by reviewing standardized test scores, college acceptance rates (for high school), and the success of their alumni.
- Specialized Programs: Some schools offer gifted programs, STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) initiatives, arts programs, or other specialized areas that may match your child’s talents.
- Classroom Environment: What is the teacher-student ratio? Smaller classes generally offer more individualized attention. Is the school focused on hands-on learning, project-based learning, or traditional lecture-style instruction?
- Discipline and Values: Find out the school’s approach to discipline, how they manage conflicts, and whether their values align with your own. Do they emphasize social-emotional learning, teamwork, and empathy?
- Diversity and Inclusion: Consider whether the school is diverse and how it handles inclusion. Is there support for children from different cultural, socio-economic, and racial backgrounds?
- After-School Programs: Does the school offer extracurricular activities like sports, arts, music, drama, or clubs that your child might be interested in? A well-rounded school experience often includes a variety of activities beyond the classroom.
- Special Education and Support Services: Does the school have programs for children with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, or mental health challenges? Check if the school has counselors, special education teachers, or other support systems in place.
- Take a Tour: Visiting the school in person will give you a sense of the environment. You can see the facilities, meet the staff, and observe how the students interact.
- Observe the Culture: Pay attention to the general atmosphere. Do the students seem engaged and happy? Is the school clean and well-maintained? Is there a positive relationship between students and teachers?
- Talk to Teachers and Administrators: Ask questions about the school’s approach to teaching, discipline, and communication with parents. A good school will have open, transparent communication.
- Parent Feedback: Talk to other parents about their experiences with the school. Parent reviews can provide insight into the school’s strengths and weaknesses, especially when it comes to student well-being and the quality of teaching.
- Socialization: Ask about the school community. Does it have a strong parent association? Are there opportunities for parents to get involved? A school where parents are engaged often leads to a better overall experience for students.
